Tomb of Annihilation & Curse of Strahd!

As you might have heard in the official announcement from Wizards of the Coast during their Stream of Annihilation this weekend, the next new D&D storyline is Tomb of Annihilation, and the Roll20 version will release on September 8, 2017!

Here’s a brief synopsis from Wizards of the Coast:

Something evil is trapping the souls of the dead and draining life from all who have been raised from death by magic. This worldwide “death curse” not only prevents the raising of the dead but also causes creature that were previously raised from the dead to wither and die. Divination spells have revealed that the source of this death curse lies in a trap-riddles tomb hidden beneath a lost city in the depths of a vast jungle.

Tomb of Annihilation is a Dungeons & Dragons fifth edition adventure that takes place on the peninsula of Chult in the Forgotten Realms. Chult is a tropical wilderness comprised mostly of jungles, plateaus, impassable mountains, and belching volcanoes. You can substitute a different jungle setting, changing location names as needed to suit your home game.

This adventure is designed for a party of four to six 1st-level characters, who should advance to the 11th level or higher by the adventure’s conclusion.

Get ready! This adventure is the danse macabre of D&D... a reminder that we’re all in this together, and nobody gets out alive.

If you don’t want to wait until September for your next Roll20 D&D adventure, never fear! We were also able to announce on the Stream of Annihilation that Curse of Strahd, the popular gothic horror adventure, is coming to Roll20!

We’ve taken the delightfully accursed Dungeons & Dragons fifth edition tale and integrated it fully with the Roll20 virtual tabletop. Our version will be available for pre-order soon, and will release on June 20, 2017.

Just like previous D&D releases such as The Lost Mine of Phandelver and Storm King’s Thunder, the Roll20 module version of Curse of Strahd will feature statted tokens with clickable actions (using the official Roll20 OGL character sheet), maps with Dynamic Lighting, and the complete vampiric contents of the book displayed via fully-linked handouts.

Exclusive to the Roll20 version are new top-down maps of Castle Ravenloft, which were created in-house for better integration with the virtual tabletop. The isometric Castle Ravenloft maps will appear throughout the module for reference, as well! In addition, the Tarokka Card Deck is included in this adventure—you can also buy it separately if you wish!

We’ll keep you updated with more info—such as pre-orders and what features will be included—soon! Stay tuned for more awesome!
