This was a transition week between the big push of last week including polishing some of the interactions from that push and gearing up for the next sprint. There is still a lot of fine tuning and polishing that remains the focus for Roll20 development in the near future. A big part of that focus is on creating better tools for the rest of the Roll20 staff to use to give them better functionality to do their jobs and automate some steps that had been previously done manually, usually by me(Steve K). It’s an investment in the future, front loading some work that the Roll20 community won’t immediately see the benefit from, but will pay off big time in the long run.
Speaking of investments in the future, a lot of my time has been taken up these last few weeks interviewing and onboarding new staff, including at least one new developer. This process isn’t over and we’re still looking for developers.
You might be thinking to yourself that you wouldn’t be qualified to apply. I’d say that the fact you’re still reading this developer spotlight suggests otherwise. These are entry level positions and if you love Roll20 enough to bother reading this, than you’re more qualified than you think. We at Roll20 believe the best ideas come from diverse thinking. If you’re unique, we think that’s awesome, and we want to hear from you. Please check out the listing and send your resume to jobs@roll20.net.
